After shooting the four individuals, Tamura turned the M4-style rifle on himself, fatally wounding himself on the 33rd floor of the building.

He parked his black BMW double-parked outside the building before beginning his assault, which was executed with a legally obtained weapon. Tamura possessed a concealed carry permit in Nevada, allowing him to carry the firearm legally.
