CEO Jeff Cole noted that around 80% of the workforce is based in Syracuse, with many employees hailing from the local community or having returned to the area. In addition to securing a new headquarters, Hidden Level is exploring opportunities to open multiple locations across the United States and expand into international markets. The growth strategy is further supported by the New York State government, which has approved a $2.5 million grant and up to $2.5 million in tax credits for Hidden Level, contingent upon the creation of new jobs at the potential Inner Harbor site. This incentive aims to bolster the local economy while allowing the company to expand its operations.
Hidden Level’s technology centers around passive radar systems that are designed to detect drone operations without emitting electronic signals. This innovation makes the systems effective against “dark drones,” which are often used in conflict zones, such as the ongoing situation in Ukraine. Initially focused on serving local governments and airports, Hidden Level has shifted its attention to military contracts due to increased demand from the U.S. military, allowing for a broader application of its technology.
