Memphis – Delta Air Lines is set to launch nonstop flights connecting Memphis International Airport (MEM) and New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) beginning September 8, 2025. This new service will enhance travel options for Memphis passengers and improve connectivity to European and other international destinations.
The service from Memphis to JFK will operate daily and utilize a 76-seat Embraer 175 aircraft. Flights are scheduled to depart Memphis at 4:35 p.m. CST, arriving in New York at 8:15 p.m. EST. Conversely, flights returning from JFK to Memphis will leave at 2:00 p.m. EST and arrive at 3:55 p.m. CST. Tickets for this new route are currently available for purchase on Delta’s website; however, the flight schedule is subject to change.
Delta’s expansion to JFK is part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to enhancing service in Memphis, which is a crucial market for travel to New York City. The New York City market is the second-largest for MEM, with approximately 352 passengers traveling daily in each direction. With the initiation of nonstop service to JFK, Delta will increase its destinations from Memphis to a total of nine, adding to its existing routes that include Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, the previously established New York destination at LaGuardia Airport, and Salt Lake City.
This announcement follows Delta’s upcoming launch of service to Austin from Memphis, which is scheduled to begin on May 7, 2025. The additional routes reflect Delta’s strategy to better serve the growing travel demands in Memphis and position it as a key hub for connections.
Michael Keeney, chairman of the Board of Commissioners for Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, noted the significance of Delta’s expansion at MEM as it will offer greater travel options for residents of Memphis. Enhancing connections to major cities like New York also aims to attract more travelers, thus boosting the local economy.
The new nonstop flights to JFK will provide travelers from Memphis with an easier and more efficient way to access one of the largest cities in the United States and its vast array of cultural and business opportunities. This enhancement in service is anticipated to be well-received by both business travelers and tourists alike, further solidifying the relationship between Memphis and New York City.
As Delta Air Lines continues to assess traveler demand and maintain its operational flexibility, it will likely adjust its schedules or routes as necessary. Passengers interested in the new JFK service are encouraged to check Delta’s website for the latest updates and available flights.
