The homes in the Lafayette Hills community will be marketed at prices ranging from $350,000 to over $1 million, with a particular emphasis on attracting workers drawn to the area by the new Micron Technology semiconductor plant. Development Timeline and Features

The site of the former country club was purchased for $3 million two years ago, after being closed since 2013. The development will unfold in three phases. The initial phases will consist of constructing 263 homes, while the final phase will incorporate the golf course and additional estate homes. Construction is expected to begin later this year, and a model home tour is planned for spring 2023.

Two man-made lakes will be part of the community, providing recreational opportunities for residents, including canoeing and paddle boating activities. A new clubhouse is set to replace the old structure, which was demolished due to vandalism, and will include a public restaurant and event space. Infrastructure and Economic Development

To adequately support the new housing development, financial assistance from the city is being pursued to extend essential sewer lines to the development area. Onondaga Town Supervisor John Mahar has emphasized the importance of extending sewer services as a key factor for the success of this residential project.

In addition, the development coincides with Micron Technology’s plans to establish a semiconductor fabrication plant in Clay. This major investment is anticipated to create approximately 9,000 jobs, further boosting the local economy and attracting additional businesses to the area.
