The newly renamed INSPYRE Innovation Hub has officially launched in downtown Syracuse, transforming the former Tech Garden into a vibrant entrepreneurial space. With a mission to support diverse business sectors, the hub will provide essential resources for startups. Moreover, an ambitious $32 million expansion will double its size, making it the largest business incubator in New York State by 2025. As the hub strives to fulfill its enhanced mission, Syracuse is set to become a hub of innovation and collaboration for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Residents of Syracuse have something exciting to talk about! CenterState CEO has officially unveiled the newly renamed INSPYRE Innovation Hub, marking a significant turning point for local entrepreneurship. Formerly known as The Tech Garden, this vibrant space located at 235 Harrison St., Syracuse, NY, has undergone a fantastic transformation that now aims to cater to entrepreneurs from all sectors, not merely those in technology.
During CenterState CEO’s recent annual meeting, the announcement of the hub’s new name came with a promise of a broader mission. The name INSPYRE cleverly emphasizes the question of “why,” inviting curiosity and sparking innovation. It’s also a nod to Syracuse’s deep roots and its promise for a bright future. With an engaging icon angled at 31.5 degrees in homage to Syracuse’s area code, the name is designed to evoke interest as well as community pride.
The INSPYRE Innovation Hub is shaping up to be an entrepreneurial haven, welcoming a diverse range of businesses and startups. Its core mission is clear: to support founders in their journey to “dream, build, and scale.” The facility offers a treasure trove of resources, including essential programs, experienced mentoring, networking opportunities, and access to funding—all designed to give startups the tools they need to succeed.
But that’s not all! The hub is in the middle of an incredible expansion. A $32 million two-story addition will double the facility’s size, pushing it beyond 91,000 square feet. Once completed, the INSPYRE Innovation Hub is set to become the largest business incubator in New York State! Now that’s something to cheer about!
The expansion will finish up in the summer of 2025, creating new space for startups and a stimulating environment where budding entrepreneurs can unleash their ideas. For those unaware, the original Tech Garden opened in 2005 in a creatively repurposed parking garage that had collapsed. It started as a modest venture and has now blossomed into a powerhouse of entrepreneurial spirit.
During the annual meeting, which saw an impressive turnout of over 750 attendees, various businesses were also honored for their achievements over the past year. The winners in multiple categories included:
Notably, some remarkable businesses have emerged from the incubator over the years, showcasing the hub’s success! Companies like Digital Hyve, Ephesus, Density, and Impel (formerly SpinCar) have thrived under its mentorship and support.
As the INSPYRE Innovation Hub sets out to fulfill its enhanced mission, it’s clear that the energy of entrepreneurship is alive and well in Syracuse. The excitement in the air is palpable, as a community of dreamers and builders looks toward a future where they can collaborate, innovate, and thrive.
Keep your eyes peeled for the incredible developments coming from INSPYRE, as it positions itself as a cornerstone for aspiring entrepreneurs in the greater Syracuse area and beyond!
